high quality designs you probably won’t see next to you on the subway
ayede — berlin-based brand to know. especially for their shoes. most popular for their flat boots and mary janes (i love the mustard velvet ones shown above) but i think their jewelry designs deserve more attention. my top picks are these mary janes, earrings, and belt.
poelle atelier — cool ukrainian brand whose “bagel” bag first caught my eye for the slouchy shape and texture. both the olive (shown) and chocolate brown are dreamy although i’m a bit worried about it fitting over the shoulder over a coat. the design of their structured leather tote is also great and i think it deserves to be the next margaux bag (but at 1/10th of the price). my top picks are this shoulder and tote bag (in any of the colors).
casa ayllon — this is the brand i’m most excited about because you can just sense the love and attention that goes into the designs and craftsmanship. i’ve been thinking about their casilda pouch (pictured above in both black and red) for months. i just love the combo of leather and venetian glass. make sure to check out their glass and metal jewelry or just scroll their website/insta for fantastic styling inspo. the collections are inspired by the designer’s grandmother and the timeliness elegance definitely seeps through. my top picks are the pouch, pendant necklace, and bead necklace.
anonymous — danish brand reflecting the classic and admired copenhagen style but with a bit more fun. their suede loafer/convertible mules first caught my eye and then it was the boots shown above. they remind me of this pair of celine boots on the real real that are unfortunately not my size (but i still think about often). imo, their shoes are stronger than their bags but i’m also drawn to their well-priced cashmere accessories. my top picks are the loafers, boots, and leather/cashmere gloves.
fara homidi — new york-based makeup artist fara homidi recently launched her own brand that i cannot seem escape on my insta feed. in a similar vein to hermes’ makeup line — with a particular focus on package design in addition to the quality of the makeup — this brand makes me want to keep their products out on my counter instead of hiding in my makeup bag. they truly are accessories standing on their own. fara also posts makeup tutorials with the products on her website which are greatly appreciated. find the lip compact and essential face compact here.
ancosti — i’m having a recent obsession with irregular buttons, propelled by this v-neck top from ancosti. their designs are notably unique in a sea of copy-and-paste images on instagram, reminding me of a more casual, more affordable, and less in your face jacquemus. my top picks are the v-neck (all colors), shrug, and velvet mini dress.
nst studio — designed and handmade in miami, this brand makes me want to sit on a beach fully accessorized. their natural stone and glass earrings caught my attention, reminding me of a pair of brown and red glass dollop earrings my mom always wears. their pieces feel like they are designed to be family heirlooms. my top picks are these pearl earrings, gold stone hoops, and silver stone ring.
