edition no. 8 - current obsessions

what's in my cart as we head into august

1. maryam nassir zadeh x j cew sheer cropped cardigan ($98) - imo, this collab almost tops doen x gap from earlier this summer. maryam nassir zadeh designs creative and interesting pieces of clothing, usually at a much higher price point than j crew. i’ve been intrigued by her silhouettes and fabrics for a while and was immediately drawn to this sheer cropped cardigan when i saw the collection for the first time. i picture this cardigan as the perfect summer layer over a dress or tank top, or even over a bralette or bathing suit.

2. agmes sculpted heart pendant ($350) - i've been obsessing over the iconic elsa peretti bean pendant (see here) but obviously couldn't justify the price tag. this alternative by agmes offers a high quality alternative with matching black robe and a sterling silver pendent. i love how the pendent looks both like elsa peretti’s bean and a heart. you even have the option to get it engraved — this would make an amazing gift for someone.

3. ancosti open back tank and skirt set ($170 for the set) - i saw this set on instagram and it immediately reminded me of jacquemeus. either the top or skirt could be worn apart but when worn together do not look too matchy-matchy. it’s perfect for the summer months but can be worn in the fall with tall boots and a blazer on top. the set comes in four great colors — i'd opt for the khaki or navy for greatest versatility.

4. zara cotton sports bag ($109) - this gym bag is such a chic alternative to the typical sports duffle bag. easy to wash, minimalist, and two different strap lengths make it a no-brainer.

5. st agni green 90s trousers ($335) - these are my dream trouser. the low waist, the slightly wide but still tailored leg, and the fun pop of the belt work so beautifully together. sadly the price tag is a bit out of my first year of work budget, but these are an aspirational item for my capsule wardrobe in the future.

6. cozy land pjs ($58 each, top and bottom) - this pj sets has been on my radar for over two years now and i can’t believe i still haven’t bought them. cozy land produces the cutest patterns for their sets that come in a variety of different styles. i’ve only heard great things about the softness and quality of these pjs and they are definitely going to be my next purchase.

7. amazon ruffle socks ($14/6) - these socks are a staple in my sock drawer. they make wearing a sneaker a bit less athletic and wearing a loafer a bit more feminine. they are surprisingly high quality for the price point and i don’t see myself retiring them anytime soon.
